Guacamole is festive for gatherings, simple for snacking, and mentioned in quite a few of our favorite books!

Guacamole has healthy fats, is vegan and tastes amazing- what's not to love?!

I first tried guacamole when I was four years old, and have loved it ever since! Guacamole is right up there in my list of favorite foods, right alongside dark chocolate-which should tell you something (we always keep chocolate in the house)!

Love garlic? Add a little more! Not a fan of cilantro? You're under no obligation to put it in at all!

Guacamole is a recipe that you can customize to accomplish whatever edible task you need it to do!

Here are the ingredients:

Guacamole not only tastes fantastic with Mexican food, you can have it on a salad or with eggs, in a wrap or sandwich. The possibilities are endless...and all options taste delicious!

The BEST Go-to Guacamole!

Prep Time: 10 minutes

Total Time: 10 minutes

Servings: 4


1 large avocado

1 lemon

1-2 cloves garlic, chopped

2 tablespoons cilantro, finely chopped

2 scallions, (green onions)

1/2-1 teaspoon of salt (or to taste)


1. Cut avocado in half and pit.

2. Slice avocado down the length and across the width to make the cubes- add to bowl or mortar and pestle.

3. Slice lemon in half, juice and pour all of the juice into the bowl

4. Add cilantro, scallions, and salt and mix.

5. If you want, you can add a dash of hot sauce or halved cherry tomatoes for color.

Make and serve in this mortar and pestle for the full experience and gorgeous presentation!!
