Mini Mardi Gras King Cake
Prep Time: 10 Minutes
Total Time: 15 Minutes
Servings: Varies
Supplies/Ingredients:
Vanilla donuts or Mini Bundt Cakes (recipe here)
1 1/2 cups confectioner sugar
2-5 Tablespoons liquid (water, cream or milk)
Directions:
If making from scratch, let mini bundt cakes or donuts cool to touch.
Make confectioner glaze: add liquid to confectioner sugar, a little at a time -always start with less liquid and increase by 1/2 tsp. at a time.
Stir well until you've reached a slightly thicker pouring consistency- adjusting with more liquid as needed.
Place parchment on pan or other work surface and place donuts or cakes a few inches apart from one another
Drizzle confectioner glaze over the donuts making sure to have tops covered so glitter will stick
Using edible glitter (purple, yellow and green) alternate colors to achieve the classic King Cake look- see our photo above.
Allow to set up for a few minutes and transfer to serving plate!
Note:
We love how fast and easy these were and by using cruller-style donuts from the market we were able to whip these King Cakes together very quickly!
If you have more time and love baking from scratch, bake up some donuts or mini Bundts, then proceed with the directions!
Enjoy your King Cakes! Know someone who would enjoy this post? We'd love it if you'd share!
